Jubilant friends and families filled the University Cultural Centre, National University Singapore to celebrate Kinderland’s Graduating Class of 2016.

All 380 graduates put up an awe-inspiring concert titled Our Tuneful Tales. It tells a tale of two children reflecting their school journey together through the melodious sounds of the recorder – building character and friendships, overcoming challenges and celebrating moments of triumph.

Their outstanding performance is a testament of our strong curriculum and positive learning outcomes from our Children’s Music Programme (CMP). The children demonstrated their talents and celebrated their creativity, confidently performing on stage.

The ceremony showcased a number of firsts for Kinderland.

Captivating the guests in a performance titled “Beautiful Melodies”, through vibrant music pieces, Kinderland debuted its first-ever instrumental stage ensemble where our children exhibited their ability to play a variety of instruments in unison (pianica, snare drum, twin tom tom, electronic keyboard, glockenspiel, xylophone, chimes, triangle and tambourine).

The instrumental stage ensemble will eventually be introduced in all Kinderland centres, locally and overseas. Together with the tone bell ensemble, it will provide our children with an additional platform to further their musical skills and to showcase what they have learned in the classrooms.

Also keeping up the energetic mood was our new indoor stage band with a piece titled “Move to the Rhythm”. A spin off from our highly successful marching band which was launched 8 years ago, our children were expertly multi-tasking between playing different instruments and getting into formation, keeping the audience delighted with a lively and synchronized performance.

Other than musical performances, the children brought us song and dance and drama skit in both English and Mandarin, exhibiting their strength in bilingualism.

Their performances today – a culmination of their learning journey – evidently shows that our children have learned many precious lessons at Kinderland while growing and having fun with their peers to become life-long learners.

Congratulations once again to Kinderland’s Class of 2016!
